A stellar concert of Klezmer music with our good friend singer Allan Merovitz and an all-star Klezmer Trio: Brian Katz (guitar, piano), Jonno Lightstone (clarinet, flute), George Koller (bass). Allan is widely known as a singer with Flying Bulgar Klezmer Band and some of the world’s top Yiddish and Klezmer ensembles including the Ot Azoj Klezmer Band of Amsterdam and the Montreal based Merovitz Project. Background: Richard Keelan‘s music career began in the late ’50s with his first teenage rock band, the Swinging Shepherds. He was a Greenwich Village folkie in the mid-60s, performing on the same circuit of clubs that spawned Bob Dylan. He recorded and released singles in the psychedelic era with the Spikedrivers and its spin-off duo, Misty Wizard. He has delved into the worlds of both traditional and fusion-jazz having worked with both the Washingtons and Brian Griffith respectively. He’s best known for his work with the folk group the Perth County Conspiracy (Does Not Exist) based in Stratford, Ontario. Back in 1998, he put out his solo CD “Chameleon”. The Amy Project is a musical and storied journey outlining the short but tragic life of Amy Winehouse, the late British soul, blues and jazz singer. The show is performed live by five talented performers: Marni Shuster as the voice of Amy,  Anthony Caradonna guitar/vocals, Ian Taylor bass/vocals, Amy DiNino piano/synth/vocals and Dominic DiNino drums.
Amy Winehouse was nominated for 63 World Music Awards and won 25 times for her songs and recordings before her death in 2011 at the age of only 27. The Amy Project performance will cover most of the songs from her two main albums Frank and Back to Black, plus many more of her other recordings, and some unreleased covers and collaborations.

An evening of songs and poems and other writing, some new, some old. They first collaborated in the 1980’s, when John was invited onstage to read during multimedia performances by Glenn’s band, Martin Fields and the Academy. Since that time, Glenn has produced a number of tapes and CDs, including the ever-evolving song-cycle Iceland, while John has published books of poetry and non-fiction, including Falling into Place, a love song to Hamilton’s landscape. Tia McGraff is an award-winning Americana/Country singer-songwriter from Port Dover, ON. Tommy, who moved to Nashville in 1998 with a staff songwriter deal in hand, soon became one of Music Row’s sought-after hit-writers, and is credited with cuts by major label artists and film placements.
In recent years the duo have supported and shared stages with artists including Steve Earle, Joan Baez, Randy Bachman (BTO, Guess Who), Jose Carreras and Steve Balsamo, among others.

Where Have All The Folk Songs Gone (the Spring 2018 edition) returns to Artword Artbar. The 60s Folk Revival sing-along concert features Sue Peters (vocals),  Michelle Rumball (vocals), Dwight Peters (vocals, 6 & 12 string guitars) and Tony Laviola (double bass). Imagine an evening that transforms the Artword Artbar into one of the 1960s coffeehouses of Yorkville or Greenwich Village. The lyrics have meaning, the voices are true and passionate in solo and in harmony, and the music inspires the audience to join in. Where Have All The Folk Songs Gone recreates the songs of hope and social justice, messages that still resonate today. The show covers the songs of the great singers and poets including Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Ian & Sylvia, Peter Paul and Mary, and Phil Ochs.
