Friday August 16: Two events tonight, plus more Beer Tap Takeover Tastings
From 7 to 9 pm: something new! an Art Slam, organized by Gordon Puittinen. Watch the paintings being made, cheer on your favourites, plus voting and prizes. As Gord writes on Facebook: “Speed Painting Competition: 1 hour to paint using acrylic on canvas ( All materials will be supplied, or bring your own). cash prizes with live music.”
From 9:30 pm: Jazz with Ethan Tilbury upright bass, Thom Mason guitar, Patrick Panus tenor sax, Luke Paron drums. A night reflecting on the musical contributions and styles of Charlie Parker. They’ll be playing several Charlie Parker tunes with a few surprises throughout the night.
