Birthelmer, master guitarist, songwriter and story-teller performs selections from his infamous Songbook on themes of love, life, the American Civil War… and weasels in tuxedos. Michael was born, raised and is still residing in Hamilton, Ontario where he has been writing and performing his music since 1976. His career has included four critically acclaimed albums; Zanzibar, Your Number, The Hat, and The Grand Review, featuring songs he composed about the American Civil War. Since 1997, Michael has recorded numerous CDs of other artists in his Recording Studio, most of which he arranged and produced. He also composed, arranged, and recorded the music to the television documentary The History of Hamilton. Currently, most of Michael’s time is spent operating his recording studio.
