The Amy Project returns to Artword Artbar! The show is a musical and storied journey outlining the short but tragic life of Amy Winehouse, the late British soul, blues and jazz singer. The performers are: Marni Shuster as the voice of Amy, Anthony Caradonna guitar/vocals, Ian Taylor bass/vocals, Amy DiNino piano/synth/vocals and Dominic DiNino drums.
Amy Winehouse was nominated for 63 World Music Awards and won 25 times for her songs and recordings before her death in 2011 at the age of only 27. The Amy Project performance will cover most of the songs from her two main albums Frank and Back to Black, plus many more of her other recordings, and some unreleased covers and collaborations.

Rae Billing and her Alt-Country band CRYBABY: Rae Billing vocals and acoustic guitar, Andrew Aldridge lead guitar, Greg Brisco keys, Carrie Ashcroft bass and Josh Sticks Hicks drums. Special guest Michael Vallely.
CRYBABY is an alt-country band originally formed in Toronto in the mid-1990’s and reformed in Hamilton in late 2016 with a blend of Toronto and Hamilton players. Their music has been described as “tangy country soul” and “late night, pan-Americana rootsy songs… handled with gutsy femininity.”

Guess who is kicking off our 10th Anniversary Celebration concert series? Emily Kemp, jazz, funk and pop singer, set up her first concert at Artword Artbar on September 11, 2010 (we opened in Sept 2009). And she and the fellas have been playing together ever since. The original five – The Emily Kemp Quintet – will be playing this celebration concert: Emily Kemp (vocals), Tom Altobelli (bass),Chris Bruder (keys), Scott McIntosh (guitar), Jordan Snider (drums), members of the band now known as The Beelays. They will be playing jazz, some originals and their own take on some pop covers.

McCurlie, Doidge and Wiles will perform local story songs and new originals from Caroline Wiles’s new album Living In The Now. Mike McCurlie, Bob Doidge and Caroline Wiles are an Ancaster-based trio who perform original folk-rock music and great story songs, many based on Ancaster’s history. These seasoned musicians are award winning songwriters/artists who sing fabulous three part harmonies. Mike McCurlie and Bob Doidge have been making music together since their early teens. Then along came Caroline Wiles, a songwriter from Montreal. They all start playing together, harmonizing, creating a groove with guitar, mandolin and bass.
