MICHAEL BURTON: Michael Burton infuses his songwriting with emotion, adventure, humour and human experience. He writes from real life most of the time… sometimes his own, sometimes the fascinating lives of other people met along his way. Influences in his literate and colourful lyrical style include Stan Rogers, James Keelaghan, Brendan Nolan, Archie Fisher, Andy Stewart, Dave Alvin and many others. He plays fingerstyle acoustic guitar and uses his expressive voice to connect solidly with his audience. “Michael is a fellow toiler in the stony fields of Folk.” ~Tim Harrison, founder of Summerfolk Festival. www.myspace.com/michaeljburton

PAUL JANSEN: Singer-songwriter Paul Jansen’s instruments of choice are guitar and mandolin, although he also devotes time to piano, fiddle and banjo. A keen interest in different aspects and genres of acoustic music has shaped and grown his work, from folk and old time music to bluegrass, Celtic and blues. His unique fusion of traditional Celtic and bluegrass musical forms keeps audiences leaning forward and listening closely to the intricate melodies. The lyrics in his original balladic material are sensitive and beautifully performed. http://radio3.cbc.ca/#/bands/Paul-Jansen
