Steven_Winnall_Alison_Smith.jpgSteven_Winnall_poster_web_600.jpgSaturday April 9 at 8 pm, $10. “Bow Tie” (Steven Winnall and Allison Smith) launch their new EP “Sequins”, acoustic/folk new songs. http://www.myspace.com/wearebowtie  Opening for them are singer-songwriters Marie Avery and Amber Edgar, see “More”

amberedgar2_c.jpgAMBER EDGAR: Amber Edgar hails from a small town, in the boom and bust province of Alberta. Her mix of poetic ballads and driving uptempo tunes are punctuated by a percussive lyric delivery and rhythmic guitar riffs. Amber’s themes traverse life and death through the eyes of a motley cast of characters. With a dose of dark humour and a twinkle in her eye, Amber will keep you hanging off of every word.

marieavery_c.jpgMARIE AVERY: Marie Avery’s songs seem as though they have always existed somewhere, simply waiting to heard and sung out loud. Marie’s impressionistic piano lines shift ordinary settings like back porches and shopping malls into magical worlds where wistful dreams and unwritten stories are waiting to be discovered.
