Concert: The Book of Gnomes, electroacoustic concert, Sat Oct 23

The group is electroacoustic collaboration between Nick Zubeck (guitars, lapsteel, FX — Barzin, Polmo Polpo, Great Lake Swimmers), James Castle (bass, loops — Elkton Hills, Phil Stabile, Cable, R., Cable, W.), Robbie Grunwald (keys — Jill Barber, Everything All the Time, Barzin, Matza Ball Gumbo), and Ben Bowen (horns, metallophone, keys — Great Aunt Ida, A Northern Chorus, Ronley Teper). Guest percussionist Tim Shia is joining in this evening. The music, presented in the form of long-form post-fusion suites, combines elements of rock and pop with improvisation. http://www.myspace.com/thebookofgnomes
