Thursday February 7, 2019, at 8 pm, $10 / pwyc. First event of 2019. Songwriter Kyp Harness, musician and writer, is celebrating the release of his second novel The Abandoned as well as his 14th album, self-titled Kyp Harness. Joining him is pianist Tania Gill and multi-instrumentalist Dale Morningstar of Dinner is Ruined.
Also participating in the evening is Chris Bailey, a poet/fisherman from Prince Edward Island, who splits his time between Hamilton and PEI. He will be reading from his book What Your Hands Have Done.
“If you aren’t familiar with Kyp Harness, then you’ve been missing one of the most important bodies of work any Canadian singer-songwriter…. With each new release, media outlets have hailed him as a genius, and his songs have been covered by Ron Sexsmith, Daniel Lanois and Mary Margaret O’Hara, among others. Sexsmith has called Harness, ‘my favourite songwriter. It’s his lyrics that set him apart. They are every bit as powerful as the best Dylan, Cohen and Lennon combined.’”
