Folk/blues concert: ‘Run for the Hills’, Cindy Dell, Brennagh Burns, Les Smith, Fri Feb 15

Friday February 15 at 8 pm, $5-10 donation. Acoustic folk trio Run for the Hills – Cindy Dell (vocals, guitar, fiddle, uke), Brennagh Burns (guitar, vocals), and Les Smith (guitar, harmonica, vocals), with guests Brandon General guitar and Amy Di Nino percussion. Hailing from South-Western Ontario, ‘Run for the Hills’ are becoming known for their sweet harmonies and intelligent folk and blues. Having spent the last several years traveling throughout Southern Ontario, exploring solo musical careers as well as playing/writing for various musical groups and projects, Cindy, Brennagh and Les come together not only as friends and colleagues, but also as passionate collaborators, singer-songwriters, and lovers of song. All three have released CDs and they perform a variety of original songs as well as unique arrangements of covers against a backdrop of two and three-part harmonies, harmonica, fiddle, and charged acoustic ambiance.  Influences:  Joni Mitchell, Patty Griffin, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings,Shane Nicholson and Kasey Chambers, Bonnie Raitt, Rose Cousins, Steve Earle, among others.
