David_Nemeth_BrokenE-stringBreakdown.jpgDavid Nemeth recently made his home in Hamilton, the city that inspired him to create his latest series, “Between the Hammer and a Hard Place”, an evocative study of Hamilton’s architecture and the people who reside there, as seen through the eyes of the artist.
David writes: “Creating a drawing is more than simply duplicating an image. The challenge is creating the emotion that captures a living, breathing moment of life. I try to tap into the emotion of a photograph to go beyond what the camera can “see”. It’s that emotion that I translate into a drawing and the closer I get to the end of an illustration, the stronger that emotion becomes.”
David works in several media, including oil, watercolour, and graphite on rag, canvas and linen. His illustration work is painstakingly detailed; its realism capturing not only moments of beauty, but also the sometimes harsh realities of life.  http://www.mylefteyestudios.ca/  Artist’s Bio: David Nemeth graduated from York University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. After graduation, he worked as a freelance illustrator completing a number of commissions at Premier Art Additions Limited in Toronto and Calgary’s Rocky Mountain Art Gallery, as well as creating portrait drawing for private clients. As a single dad, David raised his two children while working as an Art Coordinator with a men’s fitness magazine. After 12 years with the publication, David left to devote his energy to his personal art.
