Ruben Parra was born in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico. During his childhood he was surrounded by musical instruments. His mother, as Ruben points out, was the eternal accomplice in his musical adventures. He started playing guitar at the age of 18 and was admitted to the academy of music of Guadalajara. Ruben began writing his own songs and formed a group called “Entrecanto,” which performed for almost 4 years in pubs in Guadalajara and other Mexican states, sharing the stage with others that also sang the “nueva trova” songs. Ruben continues to compose and is a well known artist in the Hispanic community of Hamilton.
