A wide ranging evening pushing the envelope of sound poetry, music and movement. The original inspiration was to combine two very different specialists in sound poetry, Nobuo Kubota and Peter Jarvis. Peter, as is his wont, brought along some of his friends, and the result was an evening remarkable for its cleverness and fun.

Nobuo Kubota is a widely-known and respected visual artist, whose work includes architecture, sculpture, video and installation. He is also a sound poet and performance artist, whose finely-honed performances combine skill, inventiveness and wit.

Peter Jarvis is a versatile performer and artist, who draws on clowning, movement, music and mask to create highly individual performance pieces. He is also a founder and guru of the Subtonic Monks.

Haven is a trio of singers including Carol Bruce, Jennifer Norman and Peter Jarvis, performing original songs written by Carol Bruce, and featuring intricate close-harmony arrangements.

Mark Sepic plays demon flamenco guitar, and did a totally off-the-wall music-dance improvisation with Peter.

Lynn Campbell's scupltures from her Passages series were shown in the lobby, along with book works by Frank Manners, 21.5 Hz and Unavailable Mind.
