William Beauvais is a very fine composer and classical guitarist. He performed a concert of improvisations for solo guitar entitled Constructed Dreams. We combined William with poet and visual artist Karen Doleske, from Iron Bridge, Ontario , performing Reports from the Centre of the Universe (which just happens to be Iron Bridge, Ontario.)

And in the gallery space, artist Frank Manners exhibited prototypes of working papers for a book in progress, entitled 21.5 Hz.

William Beauvais has worked with some of Canada's finest ensembles, including the Canadian Chamber Ensemble, Arraymusic and The Evergreen Club Gamelan Ensemble. He has several CDs available, which are some of our personal favorites. He is writing the music for an opera, Heloise, with a libretto by Judith Sandiford.

We encountered Karen Doleske (who often calls herself simply Doleske) when she sent some of her poetry to Artword Magazine. We found it startlingly good and unlike anything else. Not usually an easy read, but worth the work. She performs the poems as theatre, putting across the content in a very powerful way.
