Tricks, a new
show in which master magician David Ben, one of the
world's most renowned magicians, performs some of his
favourite 'tricks' in the intimate setting of Artword
Theatre.
Modern magic and psychic mumbo jumbo performed in an
intimate and unplugged manner, directed by Patrick Watson
and with original music by John Lang.
 Performed
by Ben in the smooth, slick, witty, urbane and participatory
style for which he is famous, the magic in
Tricks ranges from comical and mysterious to
beautiful and visceral.
A master
of sleight-of-hand, Ben says, "Tricks do not have to be for
kids. It's okay for adults to be mystified, amazed, laugh
and, dare I say, even be disturbed by what they see. It's
what makes us feel alive."
Conceived
and written for adult audiences, Tricks will
also appeal to family groups and children ages 8 and up. It
is not suitable for very young children.
Also, an
exhibition of vintage magic show posters will be on display
in the gallery.
