The Orphan Boy is a Masai tale of transformation told in dance and music. The tale teaches the lesson -- when one is blessed by a power beyond our understanding, we are given a sacred trust. When we break that trust, we suffer the consequences.
The Orphan Boy is part of the city wide Metamorphosis festival, a new festival celebrating transformation and the arts.
Principal dancer is Germaul Yusef Barnes (former dancer with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company) as the orphan boy supported by a cast of eight local Toronto dancers. Music is performed by the Ensemble Noir chamber group.
