If you are a regular visitor to Trinidad carnival, then most likely you are also a seasoned supporter of the annual Paul Keens Douglas’ Talk Tent. Well approaching its twentieth year, one of the first women talkers of that tent is recent Toronto resident, Rhoma “Lady” Spencer. In 2001 she hosted the first woman’s talk tent aptly titled, Franc’omen with her guest Rachel Price making her Toronto debut at the Artword Theatre.
Well after a hiatus for one year, Rhoma returns to the oral traditions in Lacouray and Ratiray at the Artword Theatre on Palm Sunday April 13, 2003 at 6pm.

Last seen as Dinah in the ever popular play Jean and Dinah and the 2002 edition of Talk Tent in Port of Spain-Trinidad, Rhoma will let loose her canon of the oral traditions in an evening of ole talk, picong, mauvais langue, comedy, storytelling and kaiso.  None shall escape her tongue in these times of war and terrorism.
Sharing the stage with the Lady is none other than Guyanese calypso extraordinaire, Crooner, and Barbados’ own Roger “Rajiman” Gibbs.
According to Spencer, her fans have been requesting this concert since last summer and the wait is now over. “I am the lacouray component of the evening, so come to the theatre expecting to hear all the scandal and bacchanal here, home and abroad.”
Her special guests will serenade the audience in all forms of Ratiray. She is also beaming over the Executor and Invader extempo war that both Crooner and Roger Gibbs will deliver as never before seen in Toronto. Spencer insists that Lacouray and Ratiray is where talk and kaiso becomes an oral tradition.
Presented by MERJ Entertainment, a new production outfit committed to producing quality entertainment in the city. Look out for their special Father’s Day concert in June.
