Miss Begotten is a powerful drama based on the life of Diane Esther, author of Out of Incest and Abuse, A Book of Hope.

Miss Begotten is based on the life of Diane Esther, a Hamilton poet, sexual abuse counsellor, and incest survivor. It is directed by Jeff Santa Barbara and performed by Maureen Dwyer, who portrays Diane, her abusive father and many other characters over the course of the play.

The play has had three separate performances in the Hamilton area since 1998, each one a benefit for a particular women's charity, raising over $6000 to date. It is also being adapted to film and will be shot next year.
