First Theatre Event: Penguin offers dance, music

Artword Theatre is opening its new 150-seat theatre at 75 Portland Street on Thursday, April 15 with The Facetious Penguin Inquest, a dance/music/theatre cabaret produced by Artemis Theatre Company.
This quarterly event, the brainchild of Carole Logan, will be the first to use Artword’s brand-new double-sprung stage, especially constructed to serve both dance and theatre (photo: last panel to go).
The dance/music/ theatre cabaret is an exciting blend of disciplines including performances by Nova Bhattacharya, Ed Hanley and Maria Gould, with a film by Keith Cole.
The Facetious Penguin Inquest has been created to present new and exciting work in any discipline to a far-reaching but discriminating audience in a warm, friendly environment. The second in a quarterly series, the Facetious Penguin Inquest is an investigation into the heart of the arts in Toronto, an analysis into the connection between audience and artist, a party, a cultural event, an education.
April 15 to 17 at 8:00 pm. Tickets $20 available in advance through the TPM BoxLine at (416) 504-PLAY, or at the door.
