First there was Barnum & Bailey. Then came Siegfried & Roy. Now make way for Midge & Madge!

Midge & Madge are the featured players in THE ACME MINIATURE FLEA CIRCUS.

They're fleas, wingless insects no bigger than a freckle... real, human-blood-sucking fleas. Their travelling act, garnering rave reviews from Boston to Brazil, is one of the weirdest and wackiest in show business. Midge & Madge were flicked to stardom by the internationally acclaimed and world-renowned authority, Professor A.G. Gertsacov; this flea trainer extraordinaire presides as ringmaster.

Just call him Lord of the Fleas.

Similar spectacles were common 200 years ago, when flea circuses entertained the hoi polloi of North America and (on the top of) the Crowned Heads of Europe. The first reference to a flea circus is 1828 in London's Covent Garden, performing Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo. Pulex irritans, the species that infests humans, was common back then; that changed with the advent of improved personal hygiene and inventions like the vacuum cleaner and the washing machine.

THE ACME MINIATURE FLEA CIRCUS is alive and well with entomological entertainment that dazzles, disgusts and confuses the audience.

THRILL to the exciting chariot race; ENJOY the marvellous tight-wire act; BE AMAZED at the death-defying finale.

BOSTON SUNDAY GLOBE... "People in the audience find themselves cheering for these things they can't even see. And if they could see them in any other circumstance, they'd probably kill them."

MONTREAL GAZETTE... "#1 SURE BET, pure feel-good nonsense."

SAN FRANCISCO FRINGE FESTIVAL... "A gem of a show!"

NEW YORK TIMES... "old-time vaudeville looks young again, high-spirited, the appeal is irresistible."
