Artword Theatre has been invited to bring If Cows Could Fly to this year's Ashkenaz Festival in Toronto. We'll be doing two performances in the Studio Theatre at Harbourfront, Labour Day weekend, Sunday August 31 at 1 pm and Monday September 1, at 5 pm.

Just before Ashkenaz, we'll do a special performance in Hamilton.

Hamilton Artists Inc, “Urban Moorings Project” extended to September 9

Susan_Detwiler_in_her_studio.jpgThe Urban Moorings Project brings together the work of artists Susan Detwiler, Noel Harding and David Acheson, Tor Lukasik-Foss and Steve Mazza to create floating sculptures and gardens on the wetlands of Cootes Paradise. Curated by Nora Hutchinson.

The exhibition will open on June 21st, 2008 at 1 pm, as the artists install their houseboat sculptures on the shores of Princess Point, Cootes Paradise. The exhibition will continue until September 9, 2008. We welcome you to join us. It’s a great opportunity to meet the artists and gain some exposure to some new contemporary work.

Hamilton Fringe Call for Volunteers

The Fringe is seeking volunteers for this summer’s 5th annual Fringe Festival! We need people to help sell tickets, be ushers, help backstage, put up posters, etc.

Volunteers are given a free Fringe t-shirt and backer button to wear. They also receive a Fringe show ticket for each shift worked. They are invited to the opening and closing party, and receive a certificate of thanks. More »

AGH International Film and Video Festival 10: August 7

McMaster Summer Drama Festival: July 18 to 26

Artistic Director Andrew Hadden asserts, “This year’s festival consists of four very unique shows. Each one is very bold in its own way. The audience will have the option to see a brutally honest and emotional drama (Closer), a quirky musical which explores contemporary pop culture (Six Women With Brain Death), a student-written adaptation of the classic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet (Fair Verona) and a play which reflects on life and regret (Edward Albee’s Three Tall Women).”
