Artword Artbar is pleased to host Insurgent Theatre, currently touring with two projects: a film, The Shadow of Lucasville, screening and  facilitated conversation, and their newest play Know Your Enemy. (They brought “In the Belly” to Artword Artbar two years ago.)

The Shadow of Lucasville revisits the 1993 uprising at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility, one of the longest in U.S. history, while exploring the fight for human rights and media exposure through inmate uprisings in response to mass incarceration and dehumanization supported by the prison industrial complex. The film will be followed by conversation with former prisoners. $5-20 suggested donation, no one turned away for lack of funds.
