Concert: Janice Lee and the Free Radicals, Fri Jan 18, 2013

Janice Lee_cc_650.jpgFriday January 18, 2013, 8 pm. Janice Lee and the Free Radicals. They wowed us on a late night during our Fringe Clubhouse, and we are delighted to have them back. Watch out! A groovy new jazz, funk, folk pop trio from Kitchener. Recent Waterloo Region Arts Award winner Janice Lee (of the Tra-La-Las) fronts on guitar and soulful vocals. Justin James brings rich Nat King Cole-like piano and vocals. Adam F. Lewis entertains with his upstage antics and grandiose drum styles. They bring a mix of catchy new original songs to sing along to, jazz standards to revel in, and a healthy dose of radical political analysis to talk about. Their motto is: Bring the Funk to the People. The People Need More Funk.  www.janicejolee.ca
Also on the bill: Lorimer Longhaul – spoken word, Jon the Bassist – soulful loops, Livestalk – acoustic post-punk folk.
