Playwright Sky Gilbert describes his new work: “Hamilton Bus Stop is a play about the meeting of two very different people at a typical Hamilton Bus Stop in the downtown core. You€™ve heard stories about the Hamilton downtown core apparently the Hamilton Ticats don€™t want to play their games down there are the rumours true the ones that you read in The Spectator? Is the downtown Hammer a hotbed of sin and crime? Do you take your life in your hands walking the streets of downtown Hamilton at night? If so what is James Street doing have an €œArt Crawl€™ at night once a month?
Find out for yourself. Venture down to the Artbar, have a drink or to, and watch Hamilton Bus Stop, a real life downtown Hamilton story about Cookie, a nice lady who makes catpins, and Retribution a male hooker, who meet, by chance, on a rainy afternoon in a bus stop in the Hammer core. How different are these two people? Can they even chat at all? Or do they, perhaps, have more in common than you might imagine?
Richard Florida and gentrification meet the realities of unsafe sex and HIV on the Hamilton streets in what Sky Gilbert calls a one act comedy.”
