Southern Ontario songwriter Barry James Payne, the architect of String Bone, has a new collection of songs and stories, Love & Highways, his second full-length recording. Opening set by singer-songwriter Michael Coughlan, now making his home in Toronto, Ontario. His debut album The Sixth Avenue Verses was produced by underground roots music genius Shannon Lyon. From a lyrical standpoint he paints in bold strokes, delivering unfettered compositions strongly rooted in story. Barry James Payne also performs and records with Celtic powerhouse Rant Maggie Rant and Payne & Taylor with bluesman Rick Taylor (Willie P. Bennett, Stan Rogers, Colleen Peterson). Payne’s concert series String Bone Presents! brings the best of Canadian folk-roots to the stage at Stratford’s Revival House with 8-12 concerts in each season.
