Thursday November 25 at 9:30, “Behind the Kiln” #3, an evening of real-time collaborations between dancers, musicians and artists. (Photos by D.Delgado July24 session.) Collaborators so far include dancers Tanis MacArthur, Anne Milne, musicians Orange McFarland (standup bass), Jennifer Lockman (piano), Tom Shea (guitar), Ron Weihs (fiddle), with projections by Judith Sandiford on real-time video-mix. Solos, duos, trios and all of the above. (Eugene Martynec on laptops pictured above can’t make it this time). Why is the evening called €œBehind the Kiln€? Tanis explains: “If you leave wood to dry behind the kiln, it warps into all kinds of strange unpredictable shapes.”
“Hamilton Bus Stop“, a new play written and directed by Sky Gilbert, will be performed at Artword Artbar, 15 Colbourne Street, Hamilton for a two-week run Nov 18 to 28. Tickets at the bar or reserve 905-543-8512.
The one-act play is a real life downtown Hamilton story about Cookie, a nice lady who makes catpins, and Retribution a male hooker, who meet, by chance, on a rainy afternoon in a bus stop in the Hammer core. How different are these two people? Can they even chat at all? Or do they, perhaps, have more in common than you might imagine?
Hamilton Bus Stop stars Ellen-Ray Hennessy a veteran brilliant who was nominated for a Dora in Sky’s play about Ayn Rand where she played Ayn Rand The Emotionalists 2000, and Nick Green a young guy fresh off the boat from Calgary, with stage management by Steve Newman , one of the founders of Theatre Aquarius.
