Supercrawl Sept 25 and Open Streets Sept 26

OpenStreets_June6_2010_photoCFink_c.jpgJames Street North is one big street party Sat Sept 25 and Sunday Sept 26, with two back-to-back street festivals on one weekend.
*On Saturday Artword Artbar hosts one performance timeslot on the outdoor stage (details TBA) at the corner of Colbourne & James (early 1:30 pm or so?? they haven’t told us yet) .  Then we’ll host the “mellow afterparty” featuring music by Marcone at Artword Artbar from about 11 pm (after our concert by The Acoustics at 8 pm), .
**On Sunday we’ll be out on the street with some music and spoken word from about 11 am to 2 pm, at the corner of Colbourne and James, then back to the bar for our scheduled poetry reading at 2 pm.  All will be free.
*SUPERCRAWL is a free afternoon and evening of art and music on James Street North in Hamilton. Saturday, September 25th from 1 PM till 11 PM on James Street North from York Blvd/Wilson Street north to Barton Street. http://www.supercrawl.ca/news/

Concert: The Acoustics world/roots concert, Sep 25

the_ACOUSTICS_new_c.jpgSaturday, September 25, 8:00 pm at Artword Artbar, 15 Colbourne St. Tickets $10. The Acoustics are back at Artword Artbar! A lively five-piece instrumental ensemble playing world/roots music with a  Mediterranean and Latin sound. Alfonso Spoto accordion; Enzo Spoto, lead and rhythm guitar; Brian Ropcean, percussion; Bonnie Krenciglowa, violin; Andrew Eckart, double bass.
The Acoustics’ recent CD Forever and a Day came in second place for World Album of the year at the 2009, JPF Music Awards, in Nashville TN. They also had two major category nominations for the 2009 Hamilton Music Awards, Folk/Traditional Recording of the year and Instrumental Recording of the year.
